The Clay Years

During the years between 1992 and 1999 Deborah worked exclusively in clay, making decorative rather than functional pieces. At that time, she was one of only a couple of people living in the Memphis area who was firing in the Japanese Raku technique. She also taught an adult pottery class and worked with special needs children. Unfortuanately, an allergy to something in the clay studio prevents her from working with clay on a regular basis now. Below are examples of work during the clay period.
